Dan Myatt
Founder & Director
Dan followed in his sister’s steps working at the family smallholding and developing a passion for horticulture. At university he received a degree in marine biology and thereafter graduated to running his parents’ nursery on Hayling Island. He developed the business into a thriving concern complete with successful tearoom.
The lockdowns in 2020 provoked a time of reflection during which the idea of English Roses was born. Dan transferred his love for roses into an ethical business that is currently approaching its special milestone of 100,000 orders. Dan is everywhere on the farm and can be seen driving the forklift, feeding the roses or occasionally behind his desk.
Dan’s Favourite Rose
Mum In A Million Rose
“It’s super easy to grow, completely disease-free, and naturally forms a rounded bush shape. The blooms are showcase-perfect with a fab scent, so they look first-class when we box them up to send out. Plus, they keep flowering on and on with little to no maintenance, so it’s a 10 from me! The fact that they make extra special Mother’s Day gifts is an added bonus!”
