Truly Scrumptious is the feisty character in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang who eventually fall in love with Caractacus Potts. She doesn’t appear in the novel and was created for the film…but who’s telling. The pinky orange blooms and delightful scent will beguile the literature hound in your life. This hybrid-tea rose of course truly scrumptious. Sorry, we couldn’t resist.
Karen Blixen was the celebrated author of Out of Africa – a memoir of her time in Kenya in the early 20th century. Adapted for the screen in 1985 and starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford it won the Oscar for Best Picture and Director. The rose itself boasts creamy white blooms and a lovely sweet perfume. With a neat bushy habit it will suit patios and make an excellent cut flower.
Gloriana is a character in Edmund Spenser’s The Faerie Queene based on Elizabeth I. One of the longest poems in the English language, The Faerie Queene is an allegorical epic poem following various knights on their adventures. The rose itself is a climber with elegant pink /purple blooms, a light fragrance and offers repeat climbing throughout the summer.
Named after the iconic Cote d’Azure hotel that attracted literary icons such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. Fitzgerald was inspired to write short stories there and began his novel Tender is The Night. The rose itself has stunning cerise pink blooms with a rich and fruity scent. What a way to bring a touch of the French Riviera to an English garden.

This is a Birthday present from my best friend. Another friend bought me “Absolutely Fabulous” last year for my 80th. It has been beautiful all Summer and has produced a magnificent showing again recently. Based on this experience I asked for this “Orchid Romantica Rose” for my present this year.
I am so impressed by the condition of the rose and its packaging. Not to mention express delivery. I am looking forward to potentially getting a few flowers from the buds this year before the weather breaks.
I have never previously had success with roses in containers but my “Absolutely Fabulous” has been a monumental success. I am sure that “Orchid Romantica Rose “ will be just as splendid.
Thank you for your beautiful rose plants as there is no gambling with success as the plants are amazingly healthy.
I bought this rose for a friend last year and she sent me photos of how beautifully it flowered. So this year I've bought one for another friend and one for myself. I love your products - they are always such healthy plants. Thanks.
Received the ordered rose promptly and very welly packaged. It was delivered in immaculate condition and totally intact. I will be ordering from this company again
Received from my colleagues due to the loss of my Dad. A great idea and lovely product. The wicker basket is spot on as I can keep it in it for 2 years if needed.
I was gifted a voucher to purchase a rose of my choice to remember my lovely Mum. Of course, I had to choose the rose named "My Lovely Mum" with it's vibrant sunny petals, just like my Mum. Ordering online was very easy and I could choose a delivery day that suited me. The rose was very well packaged and protected and arrived in perfect condition with care and planting instructions. I will definitely be buying roses from English Roses myself in the future. Thank you!
I purchased this rose as a 40th Wedding Anniversary gift and I couldn’t be happier with it. It arrived well packaged and with plenty of blooms. It makes an impressive display.
Super quick postage, well packaged for delivery. Rose is not in bloom as expected - great leaflet and instructions included - was a gift and they are very happy!
The rose arrived in perfect condition, a beautiful golden wedding anniversary present. Ordering was easy and delivery was exactly as advised. The couple were thrilled to receive the gift.
What a lovely surprise to receive our 50th wedding anniversary rose from dear friends. It was delivered safely and so well packed to keep the rose in good condition
Bought this rose for my Mum's 80th birthday, as she had orange roses in her wedding bouquet. The plant was delivered on time and with care. It's not got any flowers on it yet as it's an immature plant but it looks incredibly healthy. Really pleased with the care instructions and packaging. I would definitely buy from here again if the occasion arose.
Beautiful rose, purchased for my colleagues retirement gift. Thoughtfully packaged. Very quick to arrive. Ordered at the end of May, one full rose and buds. I had at home for 4 days, very easy to repackage, and clear instructions on how to care for the rose. Would purchase again. Thank you.
I am delighted with the quality of this old Apothecary's rose. It is a lovely strong specimen and a good size too. I cannot wait to smell next summer's blooms, a reminder of my childhood. Thank you.
We received a beautiful rose in a wicker basket from our daughter and her fiancé for our ruby anniversary.
It was very well packed and arrived in peak condition. Lots of buds and two or three in flower. There were great instructions on future care and a beautiful wooden tag.
