Find an award winning rose for yourself or a loved one, with our selection of Gold Standard Award Winners!
What Is The Gold Standard Award?
Established by the British Association of Rose Breeders (BARB), the Gold Standard Award has been independently managed by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (2004 – 2014) and the Royal National Rose Society (2015 onwards).
Since 2006, worthy varieties have been awarded The Gold Standard Award based on various key factors. These factors include health, flowering, scent and commercial appeal. For two years, trials will be held by various independent judges to gather information on a variety thus determining whether it’ll be awarded the Gold Standard Award.
Where Can I Find Gold Standard Award Winners?
You can find the full list of winners on the Roses UK website (a website run by BARB, who also manage the Rose of the Year awards).
Many of the varieties can be found at locations such as Roath Park, Cardiff, which also display many varieties of Rose of the Year. Here at English Roses however, we have our very own selection of Gold Standard roses available, thus no need to travel! Have them delivered to your door by us, ready for planting in your garden.
