What August Means for Your Roses

August is a wonderful month for roses. The first flush of flowers have given way to new buds, bees are still busy amongst the blooms and the rush of early summer has begun to settle. It one of our favourite times of year at English Roses.

A glimpse of our rose nursery

While you may be enjoying and caring for your roses at home, we’re doing much the same here at the nursery — just across a few more rows! August is a busy month of watering, tending and enjoying the later season blooms.

Tips from our Rose Care Team

With flowers in full bloom, and their fragrance at its height, August is the perfect time to cut your roses for indoor arranging. Leaving plenty left in the garden, cutting will also encourage later flowering. Continue to water frequently, deadhead & check for common issues such as rust and mildew.

To keep your roses in superb condition, take a look at our month-by-month rose care guide for more detailed advice.
